There may be less sunlight around this time of the year but that doesn't mean your skin isn't exposed to harmful UV rays. Remember UV rays can cause skin to dehydrate, get sunspots and even age faster. Make sure to protect and hydrate your skin with at least SPF 15. Q: I don't seem to fit neatly into a warm or a cool season. I have yellow undertone skin, my hair is light brown with a little gray and my eyes are hazel, green and brown not clear, kind of muddy. My hair has no red or gold. My coloring all blends together almost no contrast. It seems my hair is a cool season and my skin is a warm season. I don't look good in fuschia. Yellow undertone foundation matches my neck and face. What season am I?
Wreta, Cerritos, CA. |
A: Hello Wreta-
It is very difficult to determine a person's season for sure without seeing them in person. But if I had to guess based on your description, it sounds like you are a cool season. Yes, Color Me Beautiful look at all physical traits including eye color, eyebrows etc but the biggest weight is on the hair. What color is the hair? It sounds like, you don't have any "warm" tones in your hair color. And your eyes have brown-ish , green-ish colors. Usually, the "not-clear, ish" description means that you are a summer. The fact that strong and bright colors like Fuschia don't look good on you further approves that you are not a winter but a summer.
Try wearing soft, cool pastel tone colors and see if your face brightens up.

Q: To determine my season, do I choose using my original hair color or current color?
Lori Sandfer, Elizabethtown,KY |
A: Hi Elizabeth,
This is an excellent question. Although, color consultants consider natural hair shade at age 7 when determining a person's season, they put weight on one factor the most - the CURRENT hair color. This is because the current hair color affects how your face appears and how your clothes match. For many people, hair alone can determine the true season.
